EU seek to avoid a trade war with Trump regarding car tariffs

After giving the EU until 1st June to complete talks on how to avoid the 25% steel and 10% aluminium import duties U.S. President Donald Trump has imposed, the EU leaders have been meeting in Sofia.

Whilst the EU leaders are resistant to the threatened deadline influencing the speed of talks they have said there is common ground on areas for cooperation including cars, energy and specifically liquefied natural gas (LNG), government tenders as well as possible cooperation among regulators and reform of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
